Bio
I believe that the most important aspect of psychotherapy is the relationship between the client and therapist. While holding clients with unconditional positive regard, I work to build a safe, trusting, and relaxed environment that includes empathy, compassion, non-judgement, present-awareness, and acceptance. I am effective in helping adolescents and adults manage the daily difficulties associated with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, stress, burnout, and career planning. I also work well with families and couples to relieve strain, increase positive connection, and to foster healthy communication within relationships.
I understand that while a diagnosis can inform treatment, the focus of therapy is on the individual and the improvement in their quality of life. I work to challenge unhealthy ways of thinking that drive some of the difficulties we encounter in life and provide new skills and tools to proceed on a path of self-enrichment and discovery. Understanding that therapy is not always an easy process, I help individuals create work-life balance and healthy self-care practices.
Training & Modalities Used
While working collaboratively with his clients, I combine mindfulness practices with the core components of meditation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic modalities.
