FAQs

How satisfied are clients with their care at GOC?

Exceptionally!  Our clients consistently tell us that GOC feels different. In our most recent satisfaction survey, 97% of clients reported being satisfied with their care — and 90% said they were very satisfied. People describe feeling heard, supported, and guided through systems that once felt impossible to navigate. These results reflect the heart of our mission: to provide affirming, accessible, mental health care that truly meets people where they are.

This level of satisfaction aligns with another major indicator of trust:
GOC was voted Best Mental Health Practice in Bucks County!

People choose us—and stay with us—because they feel heard, respected, and supported from the moment they reach out.

What is the Attention & Executive Function Coaching Program?

It’s a practical, supportive program that helps youth, teens, and adults build the everyday skills that make life feel more manageable — like focus, planning, organization, and follow‑through.

Who is the program for?
We offer separate coaching options for young people and adults, so each group can learn in a space that feels comfortable, relatable, and tailored to their needs.

What happens in coaching sessions?
Sessions focus on real‑life strategies you can use right away — breaking tasks into steps, creating routines that stick, managing distractions, and building confidence through small, steady wins.

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching is forward‑focused and skills‑based. It helps you build practical tools for daily life — like planning, organization, time‑management, and follow‑through. Coaching is about creating systems, trying strategies, and getting steady support as you practice new habits, whereas therapy is clinical and treatment‑focused. Coaching complements therapy but does not replace mental health treatment.

What are the various coaching options offered?
Individual coaching offers one‑on‑one support and personalized strategies.
Group coaching provides fresh perspectives, shared ideas, and accountability with people who “get it.”
Workshops are one‑time, three‑hour sessions that deliver focused tools you can put into practice immediately.

How do I know which option is best?  Our specially trained staff will meet with you to learn about your current issues and relevant history,  and then work with you to design a uniquely tailored approach to helping you meet your goals.

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to participate?
No. Many people join because they struggle with focus, organization, or follow‑through whether or not they have a formal diagnosis.

How long is the program?
Program length varies by format. Groups and individual coaching typically run in cycles, while workshops are single‑session intensives.

What kinds of goals can coaching help with?
Common goals include managing school or work demands, improving time management, reducing overwhelm, building routines, and creating systems that make daily life easier.

Can I use my insurance?
No. Coaching isn’t covered by insurance, but we’ve made it accessible with several affordable pricing options for individual, group, and workshop coaching.

How do I get started?
Either contact our office or submit an Intake Form. We’ll help you choose the coaching format that fits your needs and schedule.

How long will it take to get started?

Our goal is to connect you with the right provider as quickly as possible. Before scheduling, there are a few intake steps to ensure a smooth start. You’ll complete all required documentation and consents in the Patient Portal, while our Intake team reviews your insurance benefits or payment options. Your availability also plays an important role — more limited availability may reduce the number of providers who can meet with you at your preferred times.

To get started, please complete this online interest form. This helps our team begin reviewing your information right away.

I don't have health insurance. How much will services cost?

Our core value is to ensure services are accessible.  If you are uninsured, we offer an affordable sliding scale discount based on your household income.  You’ll receive an application indicating the discounted rates by service and you will need to provide verification of your household income in the form of a tax document, recent pay sheet, or other relevant information.  Once this is received, you’ll be notified of your approval.

Can I receive psychiatric services if I am not in therapy?

Absolutely! You can receive psychiatric services at Growth Opportunity Center even if you’re not currently in therapy. Our psychiatric providers offer evaluations, medication management, and ongoing support tailored to your individual needs. While many clients choose to combine therapy and psychiatry for a more comprehensive approach, it’s not a requirement. We’re here to meet you where you are and help you take the next step toward feeling better.

Does GOC offer telehealth virtual sessions?

Yes. Growth Opportunity Center proudly offers telehealth virtual sessions to ensure accessible, flexible care for our clients. Whether you’re at home, at work, or on the move, you can connect with our licensed therapists through secure, HIPAA-compliant video platforms. Telehealth is available for individual therapy, couples counseling, and many other services, making it easier to prioritize your mental health where you are.

Please note: Clients must be physically located within the state of Pennsylvania at the time of their virtual session, in accordance with licensing regulations. In some cases, providers may be licensed in other states.  It is important to alert your provider of your location to determine where your telehealth session is approved to be held.

If you’re interested in scheduling a virtual session or learning more about how telehealth works, our team is happy to guide you through the process.

This is my first time in therapy. What can I expect?

First, take a moment to acknowledge the courage it takes to begin this journey. Investing in your mental health is a powerful step toward growth and healing.

Therapy is a deeply personal experience, and just as every individual is unique, the process will be tailored to your specific needs. In your initial sessions, your therapist will focus on getting to know you—your feelings, life experiences, goals, and what you hope to gain from therapy. This foundation helps build a safe, trusting relationship where meaningful work can begin.

Together, you and your therapist will develop a personalized treatment plan that outlines your goals and identifies areas you’d like to explore or improve. Your therapist will also explain their therapeutic approach, the techniques they may use, and what to expect in terms of session frequency, duration, and overall timeline.

You’re encouraged to ask questions at any point. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your voice matters. The more engaged and open you are, the more you’ll benefit from the experience.

My child is struggling in school. What services can you offer to help?

We offer several ways to support children who are having difficulty in school. In addition to therapy and skills‑building groups, we provide Psychological Testing and Assessment to help identify the underlying causes of academic, behavioral, or attention‑related challenges. Assessments for ADHD, Autism spectrum disorder, and learning differences can clarify what’s happening and provide clear recommendations to improve school success.

We also offer our Attention & Executive Function Coaching Program, which gives young people practical tools for organization, focus, planning, and follow‑through; the everyday skills that make school feel more manageable.
