Bio
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with nearly a decade of experience providing holistic, integrated care to children, families, and adults. I believe healing and change are achieved through establishing strong therapeutic relationships, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, and building on their strengths. By combining evidence-based practices with a compassionate and understanding approach, I support clients in overcoming obstacles and realizing their full potential. This fosters an empowering environment where clients can develop the tools, confidence, and insight needed to reach their goals and create lasting, positive change in their lives.
Training & Modalities Used
Humanistic Approach: grounded in the principles of humanism, every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and positive change. This belief is at the core of therapeutic practice, where the focus is on understanding and respecting each client’s unique experience. Viewing clients holistically and without judgment can help clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a safe and non-judgmental space.
Trauma Informed Care: is therapeutic work that focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment where individuals can heal from past trauma. It involves understanding how trauma affects a person’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being and recognizing the signs of trauma. Key principles include safety, trustworthiness, empowerment, and collaboration.
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT): is a structured, evidence-based therapeutic approach used to improve the relationship between parents and young children, particularly those with behavioral challenges. In therapeutic practice, PCIT focuses on enhancing positive interactions between parents and children by teaching parents specific techniques for effective discipline and behavior management. The goal of PCIT is to improve both the child’s behavior and the overall family dynamic, fostering healthier, more supportive relationships.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): is a therapeutic approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In therapeutic practice, CBT helps individuals identify and challenge negative or distorted thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and unhelpful behaviors. By learning to reframe these thoughts and adopt healthier cognitive patterns, clients can improve emotional regulation, reduce anxiety and depression, and develop more adaptive coping strategies.
